Our Blue Chip Hurricane Guarantee gives you peace of mind that your vacation at Sandals Resorts, Beaches Resorts or Grand Pineapple Beach Resort is safe. In the event that hurricane force winds (hereinafter as defined by the U.S. National Weather Service*) directly hit a Sandals Resorts, Beaches Resorts or Grand Pineapple Beach Resorts and thus interrupting the use of included activities, Unique Vacations, Ltd., the worldwide representative of Sandals and Beaches Resorts, will offer a full credit replacement vacation (land-only portion) to be taken at any Sandals Resort, Beaches Resort or Grand Pineapple Beach Resort of choice**. The replacement vacation will be a credit equivalent in value to that previously paid for the original stay. Certain blackout dates will apply.
Guests who are already at one of our resorts and are unable to depart as scheduled after the hurricane has hit, will receive the first night complimentary and, for each additional night thereafter, guests will be charged a gross daily distress rate for the original booking.
Early departures for affected resorts:
Guests who are already at one of our resorts and wish to depart early due to a hurricane watch (hereinafter as defined by the U.S. National Weather Service*) affecting the resort, a credit voucher for the number of unused nights will be issued. This credit must be redeemed and travel complete within the 12 months stipulated and the credit may not be transferred to individual(s) not part of the original booking. Guests will be given an instruction letter on property which will outline how to claim their voucher once they return home.
Relocations to another resort/island:
In the event of a hurricane* affecting the resort booked, guests have the option to transfer their reservation to alternate Sandals Resort, Beaches Resort or Grand Pineapple Beach Resort destination that is not within the storm’s projected path. Rooms will be offered at the same rate based on availability. In the event that rates are lower at the relocating hotel, a credit for the difference will be issued. No refunds will be issued. Airfare and any associated change penalties will be the responsibility of the guests.
Rescheduling prior to travel:
In the event of a hurricane* affecting the booked resort prior to guests’ travel and they wish to postpone their vacation to travel at a later date, Sandals Resorts, Beaches Resorts and Grand Pineapple Beach Resorts will guarantee their original rate for travel to be used within 12 months of the original travel dates. Guests wishing to exercise this option must reschedule their trip within 7 days following the hurricane. Certain blackout periods will apply. Rate protection will only apply to the number of original nights and guests originally booked. Additional nights or guests will be booked at current rate. No name changes allowed.
Blue Chip Hurricane Guarantee is not applicable to those guests that have purchased alternate trip insurance package. Those guests who have purchased Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts Travel Protection Plan will be covered by the inclement weather clause. For more information, please refer to the description of coverage manual for more information on the Travel Protection Plan.
All non-revenue and discounted rooms will be offered alternative resorts if available. If there is no availability at any other resorts, these guests will receive a credit for their stay. Airfare and any change penalties are the responsibility of the guests. Airline ticket holders are subject to airlines’ policies and guidelines.
